These barrels, which were previously used for maturing high-quality brandy, add a special note to the liqueur. Particularly with this herbal liqueur, made from a carefully curated blend of 18 different herbs, the barrel plays a crucial role. French oak, known for its dense structure and fine pores, allows for slow and even aging, enabling the herbal aromas to fully develop and harmonize.

This special herbal liqueur combines a variety of botanical ingredients, including anise, lemon balm, thyme, angelica, saffron, and others, which are valued for their aromatic and medicinal properties. During the aging process in French oak barrels, which had previously held brandy, the wood imparts subtle notes of vanilla and wood, beautifully rounding off the spicy and earthy tones of the herbs. The oak also helps to refine the intense aromas of the herbal blend, creating a smooth and balanced flavor experience.

The interplay of the 18 herbs with the oak and the brandy notes results in a layered flavor profile. The earthy, sweet, and slightly bitter herbal notes are complemented by the gentle vanilla and caramel tones from the wood, while a subtle spiciness and a hint of sweetness appear in the finish.

DOWNLOAD: Guidelines for Used Barrels

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Our products are exclusively sold to businesses or traders as defined by § 14 of the German Civil Code.
