From original Pinot Noir barriques, previously used for aging premium wines, our cooperages carefully craft compact maturation barrels in 27, 55, and 110 liters.

These small-format oak barrels are ideal for the aging, finishing, and flavor refinement of whisky, rum, gin, beer, and other premium spirits.

Pinot Noir is known as one of the most elegant red wine varieties and leaves a refined aromatic signature in the wood. Typical notes include cherry, red berries, and blackcurrant, accompanied by subtle floral nuances, gentle spice, and the elegant tannin structure of French oak. This balanced profile remains embedded in the wood and ensures a precise, elegant barrel influence during secondary maturation.

FROM PINOT NOIR BARRIQUE TO COMPACT AGING CASK
For the rebuilding process, original Pinot Noir barriques are professionally dismantled. Our master coopers precisely shorten and refit the staves before reassembling them using traditional cooperage techniques to create smaller oak maturation barrels.

The reduced barrel volume increases the ratio of wood surface to liquid, creating a highly active maturation environment. This allows the oak to release its aromas faster and more intensively than standard barriques, making these rebuilt barrels ideal for finishing projects, small-batch production, and experimental barrel aging.

TRADITIONAL COOPERAGE & QUALITY ASSURANCE
Each rebuilt barrel is carefully refined by our coopers. The staves are inspected and reworked if necessary, the exterior surfaces are finely sanded, and the hoops are adjusted, replaced, or renewed.

Special attention is given to tightness, structural stability, and the sensory quality of the wood, ensuring every barrel remains technically reliable and aromatically active. The result is a premium small-format barrel that preserves the elegant Pinot Noir character while offering optimal conditions for new maturation projects.

Rebuilt Pinot Noir red wine barrels made from French oak offer an elegant alternative to standard small-format maturation casks. The sizes 27, 55, and 110 liters allow precise aroma control and are perfect for producers seeking fine red wine fruit notes and refined oak structure in their aging projects.

Pinot Noir rebuilt barrels – delicate fruit, French oak elegance, and traditional cooperage craftsmanship in compact format.

FLAVOURS:

DOWNLOAD: Guidelines for Used Barrels

NOTE: The sale of our products is exclusively to businesses or commercial customers as defined in §14 of the German Civil Code (BGB).
