The barrels are newly built in Andalusia and then deliberately seasoned with Pedro Ximénez sherry. They are not rebuilt or refurbished barrels, but original premium casks designed specifically for high-quality re-use and consistent performance.

Pedro Ximénez is one of the sweetest and most full-bodied sherry styles. Produced from heavily sun-dried grapes, the wine develops an exceptionally high level of concentration during maturation. This intensity is clearly reflected in the barrel wood, which absorbs powerful aromas of raisins, figs, dates, dark caramel, molasses, and deep, warming sweetness. The American oak used for these barrels supports this profile with structure, gentle toasted notes, and a harmonious oak warmth that enhances the richness without overpowering it.

Due to their small size, these 40 - 130 liter Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels offer a very high ratio of wood surface area to liquid volume. This allows for rapid, intense, and highly effective aroma transfer. They are ideally suited for short to medium maturation periods as well as for expressive finishing projects where sweetness, depth, and density are intentionally emphasized.

The barrels are sourced freshly emptied on a continuous basis and are carefully inspected, prepared, and optimized for shipment to ensure that each cask meets the high quality and sensory standards required by professional users.

These small Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels are perfectly suited for the storage and aging of a wide range of spirits, including whisky, rum, brandy, gin, and grain spirits. Barrel-aged beers and ciders also benefit greatly from the intense sweetness, dark fruit character, and syrupy depth that these casks impart to the aging product.

These 40 - 130 liter Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels from Andalusia are the ideal choice for producers seeking a newly built, intensively seasoned sweet wine cask with maximum aromatic impact and versatile applications for spirits, beers, and cider - powerful, opulent, and sensorily exceptional.

DIMENSIONS (HEIGHT/Ø BILGE/Ø HEAD):
40 L: 54 cm/44 cm/35 cm
50 L: 56 cm/46 cm/37 cm
64 L: 60 cm/49 cm/39 cm
130 L: 80 cm/62 cm/48 cm

FLAVOURS:

DOWNLOAD: Guidelines for Used Barrels

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Our products are exclusively sold to businesses or traders as defined by § 14 of the German Civil Code.
