In our cooperages, original barriques that previously held Sauvignon Blanc are transformed into high-quality aging barrels in the sizes 27, 55, and 110 liters. These compact French oak barrels are ideally suited for the aging, finishing, and flavor refinement of whisky, rum, gin, beer, cider, or wine.

During the original wine maturation, the wood absorbs the typical characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc. Citrus fruit, lime, and gooseberry combine with fresh herbal and grassy notes, accompanied by a subtle mineral freshness. The fine-grained French oak complements these aromas with delicate spice and elegant structure without masking the lively fruit character. This creates a barrel profile that is particularly well suited for fresh, aroma-focused maturation concepts.

FROM SAUVIGNON BLANC BARRIQUE TO COMPACT AGING BARREL
For the reconstruction process, original Sauvignon Blanc barriques are professionally dismantled. The barrel staves are precisely shortened, newly fitted, and then reassembled using traditional cooperage techniques to form smaller oak barrels.

Due to the reduced barrel volume, a larger contact surface between the wood and the contents is created. As a result, the barrels release the aromas stored in the wood more quickly and more intensively into the aging product. These properties make reconstructed barrels particularly attractive for finishing projects, small production batches, and experimental barrel maturation.

ARTISAN RECONDITIONING & QUALITY ASSURANCE
Our experienced coopers carefully refurbish every reconstructed barrel. The staves are inspected and reworked, the outer surfaces are finely sanded, and the barrel hoops are adjusted, partially replaced, or renewed.

Particular attention is paid to tightness, wood quality, and the sensory activity of the wood in order to ensure durable and technically flawless aging barrels. The result is high-quality, aromatically active small-format barrels that preserve the character of the original Sauvignon Blanc while providing optimal conditions for a new filling.

Reconstructed Sauvignon Blanc white wine barrels made from French oak offer an exceptional combination of fresh fruit, lively acidity structure, and elegant oak integration. The compact formats of 27, 55, and 110 liters are ideal for producers seeking a precise white wine barrel with fresh aromatics for spirits, beer, cider, or wine.

FLAVOURS:

DOWNLOAD: Guidelines for Used Barrels

NOTE: The sale of our products is exclusively to businesses or commercial customers as defined in §14 of the German Civil Code (BGB).
