The French oak barrels used for aging almond liqueur impart a distinctive and complex aroma to the drink. These barrels, which were previously used for maturing high-quality brandy, also add a special depth to the liqueur. Known for their excellent ability to transfer delicate aromas to the spirits aged in them, they play a crucial role in developing the flavor profile of this unique almond liqueur.
During the aging process in these French oak barrels, the almond liqueur develops not only the expected sweet and nutty notes of almonds but also a fascinating depth. This depth arises from the interaction of the wood aromas with the subtle flavor nuances that unfold during the process. Particularly noteworthy are the fresh, lively notes of orange peel and the spicy warmth of ginger, which blend harmoniously into the flavor profile. These aromas give the liqueur a refreshing citrus note that perfectly balances the natural sweetness of the almonds, while the ginger adds a mildly sharp yet pleasant spiciness.
The aging in the French oak barrels, which previously held brandy, also imparts light vanilla and caramel tones, giving the liqueur a soft, velvety texture and harmoniously rounding off the intense flavors of orange and ginger.
