GRAND AROMA TOASTING – INNOVATION IN THE OAK BARREL
The art of toasting wooden barrels has always allowed room for creativity and innovation. Out of this aspiration, the unique process of GRAND AROMA TOASTING (GAT) was developed – a new dimension in barrel refinement.
WHAT IS GAT?
GAT is a purely natural, patented process in which high-quality oak barrels are toasted using selected aromatic botanicals. Through precise application of heat, essential oils and aromas are deeply embedded into the wood. The result: entirely new aroma profiles and previously untapped possibilities for the aging and storage of spirits.
THREE YEARS OF RESEARCH
In an intensive research and development phase lasting over three years, a comprehensive understanding of the interaction between wood, heat, and botanicals was established. The potential of this innovative process is virtually limitless – GAT offers access to a previously unattainable variety of natural aromas in premium barrels.
CERTIFIED AND INTERNATIONALLY TESTED
GAT is not only patented but also certified under ISO 22000 for food safety. International pilot projects – particularly in whisky and rum production – have already delivered impressive results.
EFFICIENT AND CUSTOMIZABLE
The aging process can be specifically controlled and significantly accelerated: within just 4 to 6 months, the desired aromas unfold harmoniously in the distillate. GAT barrels are ideal for finishing whisky, rum, tequila, brandy, and many other spirits.
CREATE YOUR OWN AROMATIC WORLD
With GAT, you choose from a wide range of botanicals and develop a unique flavor profile – tailored to your vision. You're welcome to bring your own ideas and regional botanicals into the process. Aging trials can be carried out with your own distillates – strictly confidential and supported by our team of experts.

All aromas within the CITRUSY category are freely combinable and can be individually matched to your spirit – for unique compositions with depth, freshness, and sophistication.
