Refund policy
RETURNS AND REFUNDS POLICY FOR BUSINESS CUSTOMERS
SALES EXCLUSIVELY TO BUSINESS CUSTOMERS
Our products and services are offered exclusively to entrepreneurs within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB), legal entities under public law and special funds under public law.
Contracts with consumers within the meaning of Section 13 BGB are excluded. By placing an order, the customer confirms that the goods are being purchased exclusively for commercial purposes or purposes relating to their independent professional activity.
As the statutory provisions governing the right of withdrawal in distance-selling contracts generally apply only to consumer contracts, orders placed through our B2B shop are not subject to any statutory right of withdrawal or return.
VOLUNTARY ACCEPTANCE OF RETURNS
The buyer has no entitlement to return goods that are free from defects. Goods may only be returned with the prior express approval of OAKBARRELS.SHOP.
Any approval of a return is granted voluntarily and as a gesture of goodwill. It does not establish any entitlement to return other goods or goods from future orders.
Please contact us before returning any goods:

GOODS EXCLUDED FROM RETURN
The following goods in particular are excluded from voluntary return:
- goods manufactured, configured or procured individually;
- barrels and other products manufactured or processed in accordance with customer specifications regarding the type or origin of the wood, dimensions, capacity, toasting, charring, hoops, surface treatment or other characteristics;
- goods featuring customised laser engraving, labelling or other personalisation;
- goods that have been used, filled, soaked, cleaned, treated, altered or damaged;
- goods specifically reserved, ordered, manufactured, refurbished or modified for the buyer.
COSTS AND PROCEDURE FOR APPROVED RETURNS
Where we expressly approve a return, the buyer shall bear all costs associated with the proper packaging and return shipment of the goods.
The goods must be packaged securely for transport in a manner appropriate to their nature, dimensions and weight. The buyer shall be liable for any damage occurring during return shipment as a result of unsuitable or inadequate packaging.
The buyer shall bear the risk of accidental loss or accidental deterioration during return shipment until the goods have been received in full at the return address specified by us.
INSPECTION AND REFUND
Upon receipt, we will inspect the returned goods for completeness, condition and damage. A refund will only be issued if the goods are in the condition agreed upon when the return was approved.
The following amounts in particular may be deducted from the refundable value of the goods:
- the original delivery and transport costs;
- the costs of the return shipment, where these were paid or advanced by us;
- reasonable inspection, processing, packaging, refurbishment or disposal costs;
- any reduction in value resulting from use, filling, soaking, cleaning, treatment, alteration, damage, missing components or unsuitable packaging.
The remaining refund amount, after deduction of these costs and any reduction in value, will be transferred within 30 days following receipt and inspection of the returned goods to a bank account specified by the buyer.
By mutual agreement with the buyer, the refund may instead be credited against future orders.
RIGHTS IN THE EVENT OF DEFECTS
This Returns and Refunds Policy applies exclusively to the voluntary acceptance of returns of goods that are free from defects. Any statutory or contractually agreed rights of the buyer in the event of material defects or defects in title remain unaffected.
Where the purchase constitutes a commercial transaction for both parties, the inspection and notification obligations under Section 377 of the German Commercial Code (HGB) shall apply. Apparent defects, shortages and transport damage must be reported to us without undue delay following delivery of the goods. Hidden defects must be reported without undue delay after their discovery.
