Our reconditioned Ruby Port casks are true one-of-a-kind pieces, handcrafted for discerning distilleries and breweries. In our cooperages, original Ruby Port barriques from Vila Nova de Gaia are skillfully transformed into smaller formats of 27 l, 55 l, and 110 l - perfect for aging and finishing whisky, rum, beer, gin, or liqueurs.

These rebuilt casks preserve the signature aroma profile of youthful Ruby Port, known for its vibrant red hue, lively sweetness, and rich fruit character. The oak staves, infused with notes of cherry, blackberry, plum, and dark chocolate, are complemented by the soft vanilla and spice tones of French oak. The result: compact aroma casks offering expressive fruit depth and elegant structure.

CRAFTED FROM ORIGINAL PORT CASKS
During reconstruction, the original 225 l barrels are carefully dismantled, resized, and reassembled while retaining their aromatic staves. The smaller volume enhances wood-to-liquid contact, resulting in faster and more even flavor development.

The outcome is a precisely built small-format cask that transfers the fruity freshness and ruby richness of Port into new spirits and beers l ideal for finishing projects focused on fruitiness, color, and vibrant sweetness.

CRAFTSMANSHIP, QUALITY & SUSTAINABILITY
Each cask is meticulously inspected by our skilled coopers for tightness, wood integrity, and aroma preservation. The staves sanded, and adjusted as needed, while hoops are replaced or realigned.

The result is a technically sound, visually refined, and aromatically active cask, uniting traditional craftsmanship with sustainable resource use. Every Ruby Port rebuild is a unique piece with history, character, and superior maturation quality.
