Our used red wine barriques made from American oak are professionally refurbished in our specialized cooperages using the proven STR process (Shaving, Toasting, Recharring). The barrels are first thoroughly cleaned, precisely sanded on the outside, and carefully shaved on the inside to remove exhausted wood and unlock new aromatic potential.

The barrels are then finished with custom toasting or charring, tailored to the intended maturation concept. This thermal treatment develops defined toasted aromas, vanilla notes, and pleasant oak spice, which are optimally transferred to the aging product.

These technically and sensorially enhanced STR barriques made from American oak offer a high-quality and cost-effective alternative to new barrels. They combine the matured structure of previously used casks with fresh oak influence, enabling precise control over the maturation process.

The refurbished barriques are ideal for the aging of wine, beer, and spirits, imparting a balanced, slightly sweet oak character with clear structure and modern aromatics.
