HANDCRAFTED OAK BARRELS WITH NOBLY SWEET FRUIT & REFINED SPICE
Our reconditioned Monbazillac barrels are handcrafted from authentic, pre-seasoned Monbazillac sweet wine casks made of French oak. In our cooperages, these original barrels are transformed into smaller formats – 27 l, 55 l, or 110 l – perfect for aging and flavoring whisky, rum, beer, gin, or liqueurs.

These unique reconditioned barrels retain the signature aromas of the renowned Monbazillac wine from the Bergerac region: honey, apricot, vanilla, and subtle nutmeg spice. The combination of noble sweet wine and French oak creates a harmonious interplay of sweetness and structure, delivering an elegant, well-balanced flavor profile.

HANDCRAFTED FROM ORIGINAL SWEET WINE CASKS
For reconditioning, original 225L Monbazillac barrels are expertly dismantled, shortened, and reassembled. The oak staves are carefully restored and traditionally bound by skilled coopers.

The result: smaller, technically flawless barrels that preserve the authentic Monbazillac character. During finishing or maturation, they release warm fruit notes, fine sweetness, and delicate spice – ideal for giving spirits and beers a refined French touch.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & SUSTAINABLE RECONDITIONING
Each reconditioned barrel is made with the utmost precision. The staves are sanded, and adjusted where needed; hoops are renewed or replaced. The outcome is a visually and technically superior cask that perfectly combines tradition, sustainability, and functionality.

By reusing original sweet wine barrels, we promote the sustainable use of valuable oak resources while preserving their full aromatic potential.
