FRUITY FRESHNESS & ELEGANT SWEETNESS FROM THE DOURO VALLEY
Our White Port casks come directly from Portugal’s historic Douro Valley, the birthplace of the world-famous Port wine. These authentic 225-liter barrels were previously seasoned with medium-sweet White Port, allowing the wood to absorb the delicate, aromatic essence of this unique dessert wine.
The White Port imparts a bright, aromatic, and fresh flavor profile to the oak - with notes of ripe peach, honey, dried apricot, and floral undertones. Combined with the natural vanilla and gentle spice of the oak, the result is a harmonious, fruit-forward aroma spectrum that’s perfect for aging and finishing whisky, rum, beer, gin, and liqueurs.
FRESH ELEGANCE & LIGHT SWEETNESS
Unlike darker Ruby or Tawny Ports, White Port offers vibrant fruitiness and refined sweetness. During maturation, the wine permeates the oak staves with flavors of honey, grapes, blossoms, and subtle acidity, giving these casks a fresh, balanced, and delicately sweet character.
When reused for finishing or secondary aging, the barrels slowly release these fine nuances - ideal for spirits and beers that seek a light, elegant wine note. Particularly clear or golden spirits benefit from the refined, fruit-driven depth of these White Port casks.
ORIGIN, CRAFTSMANSHIP & QUALITY
Our White Port barrels are sourced directly from renowned producers in the Douro Valley, one of the world’s oldest winemaking regions. After emptying, each cask is thoroughly inspected and tested for tightness in our cooperages to ensure flawless reuse.
Every cask embodies traditional Portuguese craftsmanship, sustainable oak refinement, and the distinctive character of White Port maturation — a perfect fusion of freshness, sweetness, and sophistication.
