Our reconstructed barrels made from original Ardbeg Distillery single malt whisky casks bring the uncompromising intensity of Islay into a compact and highly active format. Carefully selected, previously used barrels are transformed through traditional cooperage craftsmanship into premium aging casks with capacities of 27, 55, and 110 liters.

DENSE SMOKE & COMPLEX AROMATICS
The original maturation with Ardbeg Distillery single malt gives the oak an exceptionally intense and multi-layered aroma profile. At its core is the signature Islay peat smoke – dry, powerful, and maritime.

Additional layers include dark chocolate, cocoa, and roasted nuts, complemented by peppery spice and subtle vanilla notes. Fresh citrus nuances provide balance and add vibrancy to the profile.

The result is a deep, complex, and unmistakable flavor profile with strong character.

COMPACT DESIGN FOR MAXIMUM INTENSITY
For reconstruction, original Ardbeg casks are professionally dismantled and rebuilt. The staves are shortened and reassembled into smaller barrels using traditional methods.

The reduced volume significantly increases the wood-to-liquid contact surface, leading to intense and accelerated flavor transfer while allowing precise control over the maturation process.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & RELIABLE PERFORMANCE
Each reconstructed barrel is carefully refurbished by experienced coopers. The wood structure is inspected, the barrel bodies rebuilt, and the hoops adjusted or renewed.

Particular attention is given to tightness, stability, and sensory performance to ensure consistently high quality and optimal results.
