DEEP AROMAS, NOBLE MATURATION & MEDITERRANEAN ELEGANCE
Our 30-year-old Moscatel barrels are true rarities – full of history, character, and exceptional aromatic depth. Originally used to mature fine sweet Moscatel wines, these 250L casks come from renowned producers in Portugal and France – regions celebrated for their rich dessert wine heritage.
Over three decades of aging have profoundly shaped the French oak: the staves are infused with layers of honeyed, fruity-floral, and nutty aromas, creating a captivating balance of aged wine complexity and oak warmth.
These rare barrels are ideal for finishing or refining whisky, rum, beer, liqueurs, or gin – imparting a complex, sun-drenched Mediterranean character to every creation.
AROMATIC DEPTH FROM THREE DECADES OF AGING
The deeply embedded Moscatel essence delivers an intricate and mature flavor profile:
notes of raisins, candied orange, honey, figs, and floral nectar intertwine with gentle spice, vanilla, and the natural oak character of French wood.
Their 30-year maturation gives these barrels a harmonious balance of sweetness, depth, and aromatic richness – achieving outstanding results in both finishing and full-maturation projects. Spirits and beers aged in these casks gain refined wine-like elegance, complexity, and finesse – a true premium experience for discerning distillers and brewers.
CRAFTSMANSHIP, CHARACTER & SUSTAINABILITY
Each 30-year-old Moscatel barrel is carefully inspected in our cooperages to ensure perfect technical quality despite its age. Staves and hoops are restored or replaced as needed, creating a tight, durable, and fully functional cask – enriched with the history, depth, and aroma that only decades of aging can provide.
By reusing these precious original barrels, we promote sustainable resource use while preserving a genuine piece of European wine heritage.
