Our reconditioned Recioto barrels are handcrafted from original, pre-seasoned Recioto della Valpolicella wine casks – one of Italy’s most renowned dessert wines. In our cooperages, these authentic barrels are transformed into premium small formats (27 l, 55 l, and 110 l), perfect for aging and flavoring whisky, rum, gin, beer, or liqueurs.

Each handcrafted barrel preserves the authentic essence of Recioto wine – rich with sweet fruit, fine spice, and elegant depth. The result: compact oak barrels full of Italian character, designed for distilleries and breweries that want to give their products a refined, wine-inspired Mediterranean touch.

CRAFTED FROM ORIGINAL RECIOTO WINE CASKS
For reconditioning, original 225 l Recioto barrels are carefully dismantled, resized, and reassembled. The French oak staves are fully retained, preserving the wine’s natural aromatic complexity.

These barrels release notes of ripe cherry, plum, dark berries, chocolate, and spice – a multi-layered flavor profile that enhances any spirit or beer. The smaller barrel volume ensures more intense and balanced maturation, allowing flavors to develop with remarkable precision.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & SUSTAINABILITY
Each barrel is meticulously restored and refined in our cooperages. The staves are inspected, sanded, and adjusted, while hoops are replaced or renewed to ensure structural integrity.

The result: airtight, durable, and visually stunning barrels that unite traditional craftsmanship with sustainable resource use. Every reconditioned cask is a unique piece of Italian winemaking heritage, reborn in compact form for modern aging and finishing projects.
