Our reconstructed barrels made from original Lagavulin Distillery single malt whisky casks bring the unmistakable power of Islay into a compact and highly reactive format. Carefully selected, previously used barrels are transformed through traditional cooperage craftsmanship into premium aging casks with capacities of 27, 55, and 110 liters.

These small-format barrels enable intense yet controlled maturation, ideal for projects focused on smoke, depth, and structure.

COMPLEX SMOKE WITH MARITIME CHARACTER
The original maturation with Lagavulin Distillery single malt gives the oak a deep and multi-layered aroma profile. Characteristic is the signature peat smoke, here particularly rounded and well integrated.

This smoky structure is complemented by dark sweetness such as caramel and dried fruits, along with fine vanilla, subtle oak spice, and a gentle maritime freshness. The result is a powerful yet elegant cask profile with remarkable depth.

SMALL FORMAT FOR MAXIMUM FLAVOR CONCENTRATION
For reconstruction, original Lagavulin casks are professionally dismantled, the staves shortened, and reassembled into smaller barrels. The reduced volume increases the wood-to-liquid contact surface.

This leads to faster and more intense flavor transfer, allowing precise control of the maturation process – especially valuable for demanding and character-driven applications.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & HIGH QUALITY
Each reconstructed barrel is carefully refurbished by experienced coopers. The wood structure is inspected, the barrel bodies rebuilt, and the hoops adjusted or renewed.
