USED 40 hL OPEN-TOP OAK FERMENTERS – COMPLETELY REFURBISHED TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS
These 40 hL open-top oak fermenters originate from a renowned Italian winery, where they were used for more than ten years to ferment premium red wines. Crafted from solid French oak and professionally refurbished, they combine the outstanding quality of one of the world's leading cooperages with modern hygiene standards.
Thanks to their comprehensive restoration, these wooden fermenters are in excellent technical and cosmetic condition and are ready for immediate use in professional wine production.
PROFESSIONALLY REFURBISHED BY EXPERIENCED MASTER COOPERS
As part of the complete refurbishment, all interior surfaces have been carefully re-planed to remove wine residues, deposits, and the worn wood layer. This exposes fresh, clean French oak, providing ideal conditions for controlled fermentation and the production of premium wines.
The exterior has been completely sanded, restoring the fermenter's natural oak appearance and giving it an almost new finish. Finally, all hoops are inspected and adjusted before each vessel undergoes a thorough quality inspection.
The result is a fully refurbished open-top oak fermenter that meets the highest standards of hygiene, functionality, and long-term durability.
FRENCH OAK FOR SUPERIOR FERMENTATION
Built with 55 mm thick French oak staves, these fermenters provide excellent insulation, uniform temperature development, and natural micro-oxygenation throughout fermentation.
The open-top design allows gentle cap management while encouraging the development of complex aromas, refined tannin structure, and exceptional balance in the finished wine.
Premium red wines particularly benefit from the outstanding characteristics of French oak and the proven cooperage craftsmanship for which Seguin Moreau® is internationally recognized.
CUSTOMISED TO MATCH YOUR CELLAR EQUIPMENT
To ensure seamless integration into your winery, the clear and bottom outlet connections can be individually configured to suit your existing cellar infrastructure.
Whether you require DIN, Garolla, Macon, or other connection systems, we will adapt each fermenter to your technical specifications. Depending on the required fittings and equipment, additional costs may apply.
Our specialists will be pleased to advise you on the ideal configuration for your winery.
SUSTAINABLE PREMIUM QUALITY
A professionally refurbished fermenter is an economical and environmentally responsible alternative to purchasing a new vessel. Expert restoration preserves the exceptional quality of the solid French oak while extending its service life and conserving valuable natural resources.
The combination of renowned Seguin Moreau® craftsmanship, premium French oak, and meticulous refurbishment creates a fermentation vessel capable of delivering outstanding performance for many years of professional winemaking.
