Giraud-Galiana

The 300-liter Tonneau barrels from Giraud-Galiana, crafted from Carpathian oak, combine masterful craftsmanship with the unique properties of a rare wood, highly valued for its exceptional quality in wine maturation. As one of France’s most exclusive cooperages, Giraud-Galiana sets new standards for winemakers seeking to impart their wines with unparalleled elegance and depth.

The fine-grained structure of Carpathian oak allows for particularly gentle micro-oxidation, optimally supporting the aging process. The larger barrel volume ensures an even slower and more balanced development of aromas, creating a perfect harmony between fruit, freshness, and complexity. The natural characteristics of this noble wood impart elegant notes of vanilla, fine spices, and subtle toasty aromas, enhancing the wine without overpowering it.

Giraud-Galiana represents the highest wood quality and precise craftsmanship. The staves are sourced from carefully selected trees in the oldest and most valuable forests of Eastern Europe. With a natural drying period of 24 to 36 months, the wood develops optimal physical and chemical properties, ensuring a gentle extraction and seamless integration of oak aromas into the wine.

With a larger capacity than traditional barriques, the 300L Tonneau barrels made from Carpathian oak allow for a more controlled aging process. This results in a slower and more even aromatic evolution, giving wines an unmistakable elegance, depth, and multi-layered complexity.
