These small-format Oloroso sherry barrels with capacities ranging from 40 to 130 liters are ideal for aging projects where intensity, expressiveness, and rapid aroma uptake are key priorities. The barrels are crafted in Andalusia by Casknolia/Tonelería del Sur, and are then seasoned with Oloroso sherry in nearby bodegas.

These are not rebuilt or reconditioned casks, but newly constructed sherry barrels specifically designed for high-performance re-filling. Thanks to this controlled production and seasoning process, the barrels offer consistently high quality, excellent tightness, and outstanding sensory stability.

Oloroso is an oxidatively aged, powerful, and typically semi-dry sherry with a characteristic amber-brown color. During maturation, intense nutty aromas - especially hazelnut - develop, accompanied by dried fruits, caramel, dark sugar, and fine spice notes. The use of American oak supports this profile perfectly, adding warmth, toasted aromas, and structural depth to the barrel character.

Due to the small barrel volume of 40–130 liters, these casks provide a very high ratio of wood surface area to liquid volume. This results in fast, pronounced, yet well-controlled aroma transfer - ideal for short to medium aging periods as well as precise finishing applications.
