These exclusive rebuilt casks, crafted from 30 – 40-year-old Oloroso Sherry barrels, are among the most characterful and versatile sherry casks available from OAKBARRELS.SHOP. The foundation of these casks is authentic, long-used Oloroso barrels sourced directly from Andalusia, whose exceptionally mature oak provides unique maturation potential and remarkable depth of flavor.

The casks are professionally rebuilt by the renowned cooperage Tonelería del Sur, preserving the full character of the original wood. Decades of Oloroso Sherry maturation have infused the oak with deep, complex aromas that remain fully intact throughout the rebuilding process. After emptying, the casks are seasoned once again with Oloroso Sherry to reinforce their aromatic intensity and optimize them for refilling.

Oloroso is one of the most complex and intensely aromatic styles of Sherry. These casks offer distinctive notes of roasted nuts, walnuts, dried fruits, dark caramel, and exotic spices, complemented by hints of leather, tobacco, toasted oak, and elegant oxidative maturity.
