These 500-liter Oloroso sherry barrels represent depth, power, and a distinctly oxidative aromatic profile. Oloroso is one of the most expressive sherry styles and matures for many years in oak casks without a protective flor yeast layer. During this oxidative aging process, the sherry develops remarkable concentration, structure, and aromatic intensity - qualities that become permanently embedded in the barrel wood.

The use of American oak perfectly supports the character of Oloroso. Typical features of these barrels include pronounced nutty aromas, especially hazelnut and walnut, complemented by dried fruits, caramel, dark sugar, subtle toasted notes, and a warm, spicy oak character. Thanks to the large 500-liter volume, aroma transfer occurs slowly and evenly, making these barrels particularly well suited for longer aging periods with controlled intensity.

After completion of the sherry maturation, the barrels are freshly emptied and carefully inspected, refurbished, and prepared for shipment at the cooperage of Casknolia in Andalusia. Special attention is paid to condition, tightness, and sensory performance to ensure optimal conditions for successful re-filling.
